I am going through some of the toughest times in my life at present due to family issues. My son got involved in a terrible incident through drink and drugs last week and a man was seriously injured as a result. It only took three days of him running amok with alcohol and drugs for this to occur but was six months in the making. His drug problem is far more serious than I knew and the actions I am taking are as follows FOR ME

  • I have been going to meetings daily
  • Constant contact with members, went and spent afternoon at members house yesterday, assisting her with a family problem, she cooked me a delicious meal. I am incapable of doing this for myself at present. I ate it all.
  • Got help, guidance and support re fellow members
  • Supported my son for doctors appointments, made arrangements for further appointments
  • Liaised with the police,

Yes, I am angry, terribly upset, embarrassed, horrified and frightened. I trust my hp to take care of me through this and have made it clear in a healthy way that I must prioritise my needs for meetings etc. It is unquestioned. My eldest son frostiness has disappeared for a long time now and we talk daily. I so value his support and guidance and respect at this difficult time.

Hi Maire,

sounds like a tough situation, but you are using your program to help you cope and try to be part of the solution. The action always makes us feel better.

I pray tommorow will be better for you and your son,

Take care,

is not that just like life? it gives you the bad along with some good. But when the bad seems to be all i am dealt  with, it just seems to be to me, a welcoming to real life on the sober side, Lots of hurts and pain but its also build on love ,courage and acceptance. I thank my higher power that i am now sober in dealing with these issues in the reality of life.
