Aloha Gang, Crew and Family...The looking for a rain-hat turned police assault and arrest and jail and emergency and court and all of that other crap has melted down.  It melted down to 5 of the original charges fell by the way side and the Judge and Public Prosecutor and my Pro-Bono Atty whittle and whittled it down to; get this, pleading to being a Public Disturbance (I never even was called this all during the drinking years!!) and a fine.  My attorney was sooo skittish when I didn't just baaaa like a lamb and cave in.  I did ask him what the definition of the charge was cause it sounded a lot like "drunken behavior" and I thought of the need to disclose and toss out my last anniversary chip.  Anyhow didn't do that...chewed on and swallowed without seasoning my ego and pride...mostly with thoughts of wife in mind and with a sour feeling pleaded guilty...not no contest (??).  Doesn't matter cause it isn't over...just the court portion.  Police Commission hearing is on the 26th and the Internal investigation results are 3 weeks late.  I've been stopped twice since...one with a clean pass and one with citations because "It's my personal choice" (he said).

I'm hunkering down with my HP asking "How do you see we can use this to good advantage?"  I'm getting back "Courage to change the things you can."  There are definitely things that need to change regarding this subject of native, indigenous peoples being denied rights to self determination.    I am a risk taker and my sponsor once told me "How do you know if you can change a thing or not...if you haven't tried".  I'm still in the "trying" mode and am not alone in it.   I'm no martyr...I am grateful for the opportunity to self determine...It comes in my program.

Grateful to be sober and so is the family.   smile

Jerry, thanks for your share. It's been tough, obviously, with the impending charges that is. Do you feel liberated somehow, now that the charges have been reduced? I hope you have. I'm sorry you had to go through this in the frist place, but it does prove how great our "HP" is, doesn't it? So keep trusting in him Jerry, and never give up hope. We won't, either should you.

Jerry, yes God presides over all things.  I like how you've stayed in touch with him during this turmoil.

I like your piece on "Courage to change the things you can." Sometimes it's trial and error.  That's how we build the wisdom to know the difference.  smile

I am glad you soul searched and decided to stick to your guns. Even though we are alcoholics, we still need our integrity, and we have to follow our convictions when they are warranted. Keep your chin up Jerry!
Tom
