Thank you for sharing that Mark. It touched me very much, as my sponsor showed me how to pray by getting on his knees with me. The power of faith is unbreakable when we practice trusting in others.

"Never make someone a priority who makes you an option"
I woke up this morning reluctant to go to a meeting (just out of sheer laziness and complacency which I know is bad). Anyhow, I told myself, "Come on Mark, you know you are going to be glad you went and you might hear or see something profoundly meaningful." I said this to myself, because that has consistently been my experience with meetings and I have NEVER EVER been sorry I went.
So anyhow, this woman was receiving her 24 year medallion today. She is someone very outgoing, bubbly, and visable in the fellowship (does a lot of service...very spunky and lots of personality).
Anyhow, in receiving her 24 year medallion, I find out that she is doing this and being this amazing dynamic person while her partner is fighting a serious terminal illness. She then proceeds to tell us more about her program and how she actually prays to God. She literally stated "This is what I do..." Then she got on her knees and showed us how she prayed and said the 1st 3 steps in her own way with her own words. It was so powerful that a good portion of the room was crying. It was the best way to teach newcomers how to develop a spirituality and what it is about this lady that has her at the point of getting that 24 year medallion. It had me reflect upon my own journey and how I talk to God now instead of freaking out over every little problem. It reaffirmed the spiritual path I'm on.
Thankful to God for getting me there to that meeting. Good stuff.
Mark

Just visualizing what you saw this morning has a powerful effect on my spirit. So many times, I went to a meeting that I didn't really want to go to and got to witnesses the Grace of a Higher Power present in the room, demonstrating by example the awesome gift we have been given in this program and the people in it.
I love the good reminder in this post. I have never regretted going to a meeting, not one single time. Thanks for sharing your special experience with us all. :)

Thanks, Mark for telling this story. It must have been a blessing to hear her talk with such great conviction. Stories like these remind me of the miracle of these rooms. So keep sharing, my friend, and inspire us just like she did.
Thank you Mark for sharing this experience with us. Very powerful! This is one of the reason I go to meetings. I don't want to miss the message. I want to learn and grow in God's spirit. It's people in AA and The Steps that make that happen.
