Welcome closer, to "MIP"

50 days is certainly an accomplishment sir, so be proud of that. I'm ecstatic to hear about your thirst for knowledge too, closer. Making practical and effective use of the "AA" literature can only benefit you in the long run, most assuredly. Interacting with others is crucial to maintaining longevity within the "AA" fellowship as well, so keep connected and never give up hope.

Some day you'll be called upon to share your amazing story too, as well.  Perhaps, that day is now? There are others, who may need your help too closer, so don't be afraid to share what you know.  Remember, you have to give it away to keep it. So, keep coming back sir and share like you mean it. This place needs more people like yourself, so don't be a stranger, you hear. Welcome, once again.

~God bless~

Hi, Im a member of AA who is now using the online forums.  Ive been sober for 50 days and have been using the program since spring 2010 (I Recount sobriety after each slip).  I enjoy reading the bigbook online and learning as much about the program as I can, I work the 12 steps each day and am hoping to be able to interact with others to stay sober and helps others do the same.

Hi, thankyou for the welcomes, I am happy to be part of this group.  Ive found that after 50 days of sobriety I am experiencing the same "Glow" that I got from alcohol but without the drinking.  Sobriety is like a new high to me.

Closer, the "glow" from alcohol is a replacement for the glow that we experience from loving life and love itself. We shut ourselves off from the world, because we thought that we were not loved, and began to have a love affair with alcohol. It's that simple. Getting sober is about changing our mind, attitude, thinking, perceptions, behavior, to effectively rejoin the human race.
