Hey Marc...In July we are moving to Florida,Deerfield beach,leaving our jobs,little$$ but a ton of faith.Always been a Northeast boy(Poughkeepsie) so got some challenges ahead.Found some good meetings there in Pompano and Boca!  Maybe I;ll catch you at one.....peace......smile

9 am here in my neck of the northern california woods, it is 30 degrees.  my husband and his friend left an hour ago to Baum Lake with their fising club.  today my sponsor will come over for lunch/visit.  we have some catching up to do.  have a great day all, it is a gorgeous day.   jj/sheila

10 AM here in my neck of the woods, Ice on the ground this morning but highs expected in the mid 60's, already pulled out the Convertible, washed it, checked fluid levels, warmed it up, put the top down, and going to go exploring with the top down after I finish my coffee, shower, and let it warm up a little more outside (41F atm)

Aloha...need I say more about the weather.  It was sooo good that the 49ers took advantage of our comfort and kept it so.  Did have ice tho...goes good with a diet pepsie and the rainbow sherbit had a bit of it also.

The Niners are actually legit, great defense and Alex kind of reminded me of Eli Manning, not great but good enough and capable of heroics when necessary, Vernon Davis, what a monster, that won't happen again

Good Morning! Today I will be: Putting down new vinyl flooring, installing a toilet which includes re structuring the waste pipes under the house, and putting in a sink!!! Heck, I may do that for both bathrooms!!! (This is a project house I have been working on for 5 years)

Uh, OK, so I did not get either toilet in. I ran into some snags. I had to pull up the new floor because of how it was put in and after a few trips under the house, I have the right combination of framing and plumbing to close up and put down the new vinyl. I hope to hit it again Wednesday.

Good Morning everyone. After reading the What Happened post I have decided that I will go back to doing what I was doing, even if it feels hopeless, and one of the things I was doing was reading this forum daily. So today 20/1/2112 day 1 for me I wish everyone a safe and sober day.

Good morning. It's up to -8 degrees already here in central WI! It's a heat wave compared to the last couple of days! The goats and chickens even emerged from the barn when I took them their food and water. My finger froze to the metal handle of the bucket. Ouch... why didn't I take the 2 seconds to put on gloves??? That is the old me, not the new me. I take my time with things now... hmmm is it a sign I am not working hard enough on the program? I have been super busy this week.

Have a funeral to go to for my 96 yr old great uncle today who died in his sleep. I hope I have some of his gene's in me : )

Good morning!

Dolly - what kind of goats do you have? I have pygmy's, just got them this year. I'm going to try and milk "Pippy" this spring. Everyone tells me it's very hard to milk a pygmy, but I am determined to try. She's a very sweet and gentle girl. I'm hoping to make yogurt, ice cream and soap with the milk. I am jealous of the warm weather. I swear I was not meant to be born up here! Somehow I was switched at birth or something LOL! My first week sober (about 3 weeks ago) we had a true WI heat wave. It was up in the 40's and 50's with NO SNOW! I was out in my baseball hat, t-shirt and flip flops, pitching baseballs to my son! He's a slugger by the way : )

Hi Tasha, they are Boer's, "meat goats" but mine are rescue goats (even goats need rescuing) and they serve no useful purpose other than bringing me joy and amusement. One of the highlights of sobriety, i get to go and play with my goats! Hav e a great day! Dolly

Good morning - Dolly - my nanny goat had her babies much to my SHOCK AND SURPRISE yesterday! Not prepared at ALL! I need to get milking supplies yet! I can't believe we were just talking about this a couple days ago, and now it's here! I wasn't expecting her to have her babies for months! She had triplets, but one didn't make it. The other two little guys are doing great... Charlie and Simon. Pippy is a very attentive and good mama. If I were still drunk, I probably wouldn't follow through with my dream of milking her and making ice cream, yogurt and soap. Such a sign and gift from the big HP.

Good morning everyone! Tasha, that's awesome! Your so right, when I was drinking I hardly spent anytime with my animals...threw them some food and off I went. Now I sit out there with them and play and enjoy the the sunshine- no headache, don't feel like vomiting...it's so fabulous! Goats are so cute when they are babies (and later too I think). Have fun!!! I was thinking about you this morning when the weather came on and they said it will be 74 today here, of course I am locked in an office so I won't be enjoying anyway.

Goodnight everyone..

 

The Starfish

An old man was walking down the beach just before dawn. In the distance he saw a young man picking up stranded starfish and throwing them back into the sea. As the old man approached the young man, he asked; "Why do you spend so much energy doing what seems to be a waste of time?" The young man explained that the stranded starfish would die if left in the morning sun. "But there must be thousands of beaches and millions of starfish, exclaimed the old man. "How can your efforts make any difference?" The young man looked down at the small starfish in his hand and as he threw it to safety in the sea, he said;
"It makes a difference to this one!"
