I hope that you are all good and had a lovely, sober Christmas and New Year.
I haven't posted for quite while as I have been busy. Life is good and I am still sober (six years on 5th February, God willing).
My sobriety keeps getting better and better and I love my life without alcohol in it. I remember hearing The Promises when I first came to AA and wondering if they would ever start to apply to me. Well, slowly but surely, they have. Life isn't perfect, but it does have a unique quality that I would never have found without AA. Usually, I have a deep seated serenity that I am often aware of.
My gratitude to AA and to all of the wonderful people I have met there, could never be fully explained. These beautiful people have saved my life ... I would surely have killed myself through my alcoholism. So, I am still attending meetings (chairing some this month) and doing service as much as time allows. Getting to AA was the very best thing that I could have done ... just wish I had gone years earlier!
Take care,
Carol
P.S. Thank you, John, for providing this very special forum. It is appreciated.

Hi Carol welcome back! A lot has happened since you left. Many of the regulars then, are on extended leave. Just Toni aka Toni balony passed away last August. Sick of being sick has been away for a couple years, as well as Tugg, Doll , and Lani. Jonijoni has been gone for awhile too. Phil pops in here ocassionaly.
I see a lot of new folk on here and that is great to see. I had heard the dreadful news about Toni and was horrified. She was great on here in the early days of my sobriety and helped me so much. I haven't heard from Lani for about a year and I haven't heard from Joni for a few months. But, it's good to be back here and see a 'friendly face'.
Thanks for the welcome back.
Carol

Aloha Carol...saved your chair here so you can come in sit and share with the fellowship as often as you like. Feb. is my special month too and so are your sentiments mine. When I let go and stopped fighting it I got the "Ahas" and after continued practice I got the "Aaaahs". Keep popping back in...(((hugs)))
