When I am weak then I am strong, not weak in the physical but in the spiritual. When prayer becomes difficult, where God is not manifest, then the Spirit himself maketh intercession for us, through groanings not understood by us. Thanks be to God that there is nothing for us to do in our weakness, but God does everything. The most humblest brothers I have encountered is the one's who have realised this truth. They acknowledge their weakness. The heavens themselves make intercession for such people. They are exalted beyond themselves.

In my own life AA's 1st step brought me to this point. It did not require any strength on my part, just surrender. I cried out to God [step 2] and help & strength arrived.
