Resolutions Anyone?

So I swear like a drunken sailor.  I am very good at combining some of the most offensive curse words, usually starting or ending (sometimes starting AND ending) with the F word or some derivatives. I have kids, and many times I can not stop myself, even in front of them.  My wife has asked me to at least drop the F word.  I am happy to report that I have made it through my first day.  I also want to start working out. Anyone else?

Tom

a great start, Tom!!  well, for me, there are 2 character defects that i have in mind to work on.....'the little white lie'  and the 'lie of omission'     i tell myself a lie is a lie.  period.   i know my higher power has put his finger on this defect for my spiritual growth and for my housecleaning.  He wants me to reflect His goodness and His Truth.  so i have my work cut out for me.  i have many more defects of character, but He is helping me keep it simple.  jj/sheila

To curb my negativity, complaining, whining. To communicate more effectively and encourage the people that I work with, to be more affective without the burden of expectation. To expand my gratitude indefinitely.

hmmm, I haven't thought of resolutions. My daughter is leaving for afghanistan, my dog is suddenly sick and unable to walk, I have to find a new job this year... fear, fear, fear... blah, blah, blah.

I gotta work harder at turning things over to HP. I'm going to work harder at choosing a quiet, meditative mind over the incessant negative stories in my head.... to stay in the present. It's always been the goal, I'm slipping lately.

Your post made me laugh... a couple years ago, my daughter asked about my new years resolution and I said I would try to clean up my potty mouth. She responded, "I'm in the army. I'm going to try to potty up my clean mouth." lol, she's a gem...

Think I'll dust off my gratitude journal too. Thanks Tom.

I'm gonna keep my last years resolution and continue to practice it one more day...Let go and Let God.  I've got the communication that goes with that which is endlessly said in time of need and also when I have lots of time and no needs..."Place me where you want me and tell me what to do".

So I'm resolved to keep practicing.

I thought that maybe a good one would be "Don't piss off the cops" and then I don't have any power or control over them so they'll just have to keep making up their own decisions and behaviors.

My resolutions are about what I can manage and control...small list that.

Happy New Year all.   (((((hugs))))) smile

I was very curious as to what the man was doing at the dinner table and was very glad to see it was a bowling ball he was polishing.....
