Not all that impressive unless you take into account that it's the second longest stretch of sobriety I've had since I started drinking 15 years ago.

I'm feeling pretty good, fairly strong, resolute...I read the literature, go to lots of meetings, share. I try to meet as many people as I can and hope to form some relationships/friendships. I don't know what else to do right now, I don't crave alcohol but I do find myself feeling a little bored and restless. I had a really disturbing dream last night where I was out with all these people who kept telling me how "lame" I was because I wouldn't drink. I didnt want to be dull and boring so I drank even though I didn't want to. I woke up kind of upset.

My girlfriend is proud of me, it must be weird for her because I'm like a different person. She says that I'm not so moody, and I seem more patient, calmer...she says that I've also lost my booze bloat and that I look much better but I suspect that she's just flattering me to keep my spirits up. I don't mind though :)

I pray a lot.

Hey Tips!

That's great! It helped me to go to a lot of meetings and get involved with stuff. Hope all is well with you. You're welcome here!

Hi Tipsy. well done!

By the way, the 'booze bloat' is true, for some it is just fat, for others it's an enlarged liver, some people just get fluid retention in the face. It dissapears soon after stoping drinking. I think your girlfriend is just being honest and is enjoying seeing the real you! Keep it up, it is worth it. Well done.

Chris.

Not all that impressive? It is awesome! Congratulations! Sobriety has been the most difficult thing of my life, but the rewards will be beyond your wildest dreams. Meeting makers make it. Hope you have a sponsor to work the steps. This is the key to finding total tranquility and serenity through all adversities. Life on lifes terms can be difficult, however with the support of the members and the steps, you can glide with grace. You will be amazed before you are half way through. I wish you the utmost of blessings! Continue what is working for you. Attitude of Gratitude!

Way to, Duane! Congrats!

Remember to listen to your body these first few months. It's going thru a LOT of changes. As for the dreams, that seems to be the norm, also. I dream off the wall crazy stuff these days. And they're in color. Never dreamed in color before.

One day at the time.

Love and hugs.
