OK Made a commitment.

This might sound daft, but I feel like I was ready to make a commitment. I talked it through with my sponsor and another trusted friend and I've gone ahead and made the commitment.

2 hours in the chair and I've had a symbol tattooed on my arm, some meaningful words and my sobriety date.

The commitment is to life long sobriety, 'cos there ain't room to cross the date out and start again, so come hell or high water, sober I am and sober I'll stay.

Wicked cool! That's bold and, I think, a good reminder to yourself! It's a great commitment - symbolically, spiritually, and consciously. Congrats on your sobriety and wishing you blessed days!

Awesome, is it the AA logo? I thought about that as well. Can we see a pic? Thanks!

Awesome! I got inked on my 90th day of being sober from alcohol and I treasure it very much. :)

Nice Bill!  Anxious to see it.  I was thinking of getting one myself.  My thoughts were a bald eagle souring toward moutains with the AA symbol in his claws.  Sorta like freedom from alcohol, self, life and soaring to new heights.

It's a representation of the 5 year medallion, with my sobriety date in the middle and ODAAT across the bottom.

Funny, the only tattoos that i ever considered were a jack daniels label or a the wild turkey logo. Good thing I didn't give in to that lol.

Appropriate. Dr. Bob was a proctologist.

Nice. Very nice. I have two sobriety-related tats. One is the hands of God & Adam on my chest from the ceiling of the Cistine chapel. It symbolizes my faith, as the fingers never actually touch. I believe Michelangelo left a gap there on purpose, to symbolize faith as the bridge between us and our creator.
The other is a clockwise spiral on the palm of my left hand. The exact size of an anniversary medallion. It reminds me of my everchanging place in God's infinite, unidentifiable universe.

Congrats. Caution...they're addicting, too.

Best Mate,
Rob

Love it! My next tattoo is going to be one that says"Un jour a la fois" -- one day at a time in French. :)

Enough people have asked what language ODAAT is - maybe next one might have UJALF - that'd get the buggers pondering!

I want to get the AA symbol tattooed on me as well, to celebrate my year!
