I woke up WAY too late yesterday and if I go to sleep now I will miss a therapy appointment (my last one ever with this particular "therapist" thank god)- so anyway. I have to stay up. I am bored of video games. So I thought I would start another feel-good thread here. It's different than the funny pics thread, or daily positive thread. This one is for posting inspirational or beautiful pictures, videos or poems. For when you don't want to laugh, but want to be inspired (can you tell I like to make lists?)
It's my last feel-good list for a while. I swear!
Here you go... beautiful stuff:
A cheetah and his friend, a mouse!
I think this is amazing! During a flood, a little mouse rides a frog that would usually try to eat it! :) The frog must have known the mouse was desperate and taken pity on it!
The literal heavens!
The blue morpho butterfly. :)
The spanish moon moth!
The card church built by John Merrick (aka The Elephant Man)- impressive by itself, but amazing considering that one of his hands was extremely huge and deformed.
The above is called "Choir of the Crickets"
Masaru Emoto's research filming and photographing water crystals under a microscope after being exposed to different energy frequencies (anger, hatred, love, etc).
The song "Taxi Ride" by Edward Shearmur, from the "K-Pax" soundtrack. I love this song. It makes me feel like almost anything is possible, and I love to listen to it the most at night and ride the skytrain around and look at the lights. I feel like I am shooting through outer space- unfortunately my mp3 player got rained on in Stanley park and died on me, but again, someday, I will ride around at night and listen to this. Some day....
The following poem is by Edgar Allan Poe. It is melancholy but also beautiful.
From Childhood's Hour Edgar Allan Poe
From childhood's hour I have not been As others were; I have not seen As others saw; I could not bring My passions from a common spring. From the same source I have not taken My sorrow; I could not awaken My heart to joy at the same tone; And all I loved, I loved alone. Thenin my childhood, in the dawn Of a most stormy lifewas drawn From every depth of good and ill The mystery which binds me still: From the torrent or the fountain, From the red cliff or the mountain, From the sun that round me rolled In its autumn tint of gold, From the lightning in the sky As it passed my flying by, From the thunder and the storm, And the cloud that took the form (When the rest of Heaven was blue) Of a demon in my view.
And now, some inspirational quotes...
You see things; and you say 'Why?' But I dream things that never were; and I say 'Why not?'
George Bernard Shaw
To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
The reasonable man adapts himself to the world; the unreasonable one persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable man.
George Bernard Shaw
People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
Dr. Emoto has visited (and gave presentations) at the church that my wife is an administrator of. He also came to St. Petersburg to bless the Gulf of Mexico in response to the oil spill. Cool dude!
Cute animal pics give me the warm fuzzies inside every single time. Thanks for sharing these. :)

All of you are welcome. Dr. Emoto seems very cool, I am very interested in his water studies. I love animals. Anyway, I will post more inspirational things soon. Stay tuned! In case I seem like a goody two shoes- not really, not irl, but helping others, making lists, searching for things online, etc... keeps my mind off things that bug and "trigger" me and helps me stay sober, off smokes, and focused on my goals. :)
