Not if you're trying to do this alone ... If it were me, I would be goin to several meetings a day ... and I would be looking for a sponsor if I didn't already have one ... You need guidance because your 'best thinking' got you to where you are today ...

Start out by changing your 'on-line' name for God's sake ... Your current name shouts out failure before you've even started ... Get a grip ...

May God grant you the intelligence to see the solution before you,

I had this sponser who explained staying sober to me this way:

"Do whatever you need to do to stay sober TODAY. And someday you'll turn around and realize you've become an old fart"

Oh Lord rrib, ... I was an 'old fart' before I ever got sober, LOL ..... In fact, it was FEAR of farting and 'following-thru' with more than just gas that aggrevated me while I was drinking ... I AM REALLY thankful I don't have to endure that anymore ... (yet one more reason to not drink!!!)

My sponsor told me that oldtimers get to be oldtimers cuz' they dont drink and they dont die.

Tonite when I go to bed I'll thank God for keeping sober today.
When I get up in the morning I'll ask Him to help keep me sober for the day.

I just keep repeating that ... going to meetings, working the steps and helping Others and before I know it the days add up so fast!

One old timer, Dick says this program boils down to 6 easy words ---

Trust God, Clean house, Help Others.

You can do whatever you want to do. If you dont want to drink, get to a meeting, find a sponsor and work the steps and dont drink between meetings. Its life or death for us alcoholics Tip, if you believe you are then you need to take it seriously. Many of us DO DIE from this beast. Arrest it while you can.

TM...what I did was stop wondering and I did what the rest of this membership suggested.  Took me a while to get it "progressively" right and now I just repeat it over and over and over.  Since you haven't drank might as well reach up and out for a power greater than yourself and ask..."Help me please".  Bet your gal and the baby looked a lot better also.   Keep doing it until you go to bed and follow these suggestions including changing your sign on.   (((hugs))) smile

Hi "TM"

Thanks for your post. It's a great feeling, isn't it? Being sober for two days. It's a beginning, so be proud of that. Whether or not you remain sober is really up to you.

People in my sober network put a greater emphasis on sobriety and do so on a continually basis. Others, however, do not. They resign themselves to fate pretty easily when it comes to drinking, and suffer endlessly as a result. These are the unfortunate ones "TM", without question. So, which one are you? The repeat offender or one of us.

The difference makers "TM" are the ones who make sobriety a priority every day. They focus on a solution above all else, and do so on a daily basis. That's where you need to remain "TM", in a place where sobriety can last for more than 2 days. It's a place where all of us can feel comfortable, once again. A place that can provides us with a solution not just another misguided rationalization. That, my friend, is where happiness truly begins, and I hope it can continue for you...one day at a time.

~God bless~

Hey 'TM', ... You're getting the input you sought ... Are you listening? ... Good stuff by Mr. David, Jerry, Steve, Lori, wagon, rrib, jj, and others ...

Until you change the way you think, you'll be hounded by thoughts of drink constantly ... Pick-up the solution and run with it ... Stop living in misery, unless that's what you truly want to do ...

God Bless,
Pappy

When I hit my pillow at night sober, that is when I consider my day a success.

Good stuff Tipsy. Get to meetings, work the steps thoroughly with a sponsor, keep going to meetings and you'll NEVER have to drink again. I know but little, but I have seen folks like my sponsor who do that and I can see that it works for them. He's got 31 years sober.

Keep coming back.

Steve

Get sober...or die...

Ive seen a lot die over the years because they couldnt get off it..

You and I have some livin to do yet..
