A new heart.

My wife was very ill last night. I stayed up praying for her & seeing to her needs. I kept monotoring her breathing, nebulising & bringing medication for her until she fell asleep.

A far cry from my drinking days. I would be passed out, never knew how my kids were. Today I can be a good father & husband, & rebuild that life I had squandered through my alcoholism. Now my program allows me to express a godly love to every human being, not because I have too, but because I honestly want to. My old calloused heart has been replaced, by God through the steps of AA. It just needs maintenance now, through daily practice.

Thank you so much for sharing that Gonee.

I know what it's like. One the one hand so unfortunate that our loved one is not well, and on the other the absolute miracle that we can handle the situation and do the right things. A far cry from the old days and old ways. Even in such adversity we can find blessings. My prayers for your family and you.

God Bless,
Mike

It is such a blessing to be able to be a blessing to someone else, whether a beloved or not, just to even have the capacity to get outside of Self. Hope you wife feels better soon.
