Somewhere in the BB is the sentence, in a paragraph by itself: "It works. It really does." One guy I used to know would always read that line in a Big Book meeting when it was just jump-in voluntary reading.
Of course there is the old trick of telling the newcomer to flip to the first page of the big book and read it and that is how much they know about AA. Of course that page is blank.
Not the nicest way of telling someone to shut up and listen but hey...I'm guessing you have all heard of this one...
