We know about remorse and death. But do we know about hope and life? I believe in life after birth!
--Maxie Dunham

We do not need to create difficulties and pain in our lives. They come with the package of human existence. Some of us even feel bewildered when we aren't pressed by trouble. As we grew in recovery and our lives became better ordered, many of us thought, "Life seems to be going so well; I wonder what's wrong?" We were more accustomed to remorse and crisis than to joy and serenity.

#####ROSIE.....you know in my B 4 12step days, i LOOKED for the monster behind the rock!!!! like life was a *sentence* of some sort......i think when things were peaceful (which wasn't very often in the old days) i got *disconcerted* like "uh oh!! things are quiet.....whats up???"......and yes, when life was going well, i wanted to know what God/life was *setting me up for*.......case in point!!! my friend has been having some VERY bad luck lately....first his truck transmission blew ($2500 bill) now his house foundation is cracked ($11,000 to $16,000 estimates so far) and here i am listening with loving detachment, feeling GUILTY cause my life is doing ok!!!!! hows THAT for screwed up???? like i didn't have enough pain in my past..........i caught this.....i addressed this......AND i did my gratitude list and said "THANK YOU....that i am having peace which is what i deserve"......i prayed for my friend to get releif, and now??? i see that i DESERVE for things to go right.....i deserve ALL the good life can give to me......i put IN my suffering.....now i work the hell out of this program to have what i DESERVE......no more feeling *guilty* cause someone is having it hard...."that too shall pass".......

What lies before us today is an unpainted picture. There are many possibilities for events to take a good turn. This, too, is part of the package, but we must believe and affirm the good things in order to accept them. When our only expectations are pain and trouble, they probably will be our only experiences. However, when we have faith that a better life is possible, we open ourselves to receive it.Today, I will live with hope for the possibilities and accept the good things that come my way.

######ROSIE.....and i am doing JUST that!!! i am CLAIMING my good!!! its MINE!!! i deserve it!!!!! with my affirmations i do, it is seeping slowly into my sub-mind that i DESERVE all the good/love/abundence/health that i can get!!!!! if someone else is having it rough???? yes i feel compassion for them, i pray for them, but i no longer feel GUILTY it is not happening to me too!!!! i tell myself all the time "the BAD karma is over--now its good karma" and i cast my burdens and my gifts onto my *christ within* and i go free from opression or guilt!!!!! i am getting far better at accepting the good that comes my way.....i say all the time "i am a magnet for all things good"...........thank you DONE
