It was a cool trip. Have not had a vacation like that in like...well....ever. 7 day cruise. No problem or thoughts about drinking. It was a Princess cruise so there were actually people at the AA meetings on board. As usual, I was the total noob with my 2 years and 9 months but then again it's not all about time. The woman with 42 years sober had only been to a handful of meetings in her life and stated she only went to tell anyone that wanted to know that it is possible to stop drinking and go on to a good life. She kept asking the rest of us to decipher AA code for her (like she did not know what rule 62 was and so on). Anyhow, it does amaze me what I can do and where I can go at this point in my life. Still proceeding with graduate courses that will allow me to be licensed in my field and will increase my pay. Doing well at a new job I have had about 5 months. Not going to as many meetings as I would like, but have been steady working out 4 x a week, dating the same person about a year now... Just a quick update on me. Bless all of you in MIP land.
Mark

Thanks for the update. Glad you had a great trip, Alaska is quite a contrast to S. Fla. I know it's a great going on vacation and actually remembering what you saw, and returning less stressed than when you left.
Can't believe it's almost 3 years for you, your putting the "M" in MIP.
Take care,

Yeah rob...that was the reason for it. I was like "Why go to the carribean to see more palm trees and ocean?" This was really different and really beautiful.

Hi Mark, it was nice to hear about your cruise. Aside from the spectacular area you visited, it's an amazing thing to be able to participate in the on board activities, and enjoy it all without a drink. I went on a cruise a year or so ago in South Pacific and really enjoyed the events like quizes and shows as well as the ports of call. We made new friends, and managed to persuade the ships newspaper to advertise an AA meeting where I met some wonderful folks. One thing I didn't hear about was "rule 62". Don't know if 62 has made it this far south. Could you enlighten me?
hEY mARK good to see ya! we are heading down to deerfield beach in August again this year at end of moth 27th.(actually may be moving down next year) much prayer and contemplation going on here......I'll give you a buzz before then ,maybe we could hook up ,share a blessing for the day at a meeting or so...Welcome back.....

Awesome trip Mark! Freedom! is all that I can think of when I think of my sobriety. I love cruises, been on 4, all had AA meetings and yes, even with 10, 15 years, you're likely to be the baby of the group lol.

We're glad you had a great trip, as beautiful as it was. Alaska is one of my favorite places and so majestic as well. I can't wait to go back. Maybe, in the unforeseeable future. Anyway, welcome back and thanks again for the update.
~God bless~
