The lawyer & the cop.

Speaker tonight was an ex cop.

He spoke of how he arrested this lawyer for drunken driving, during his sober days. The lawyer got sober in AA.

Many years later, this cop became an alcoholic & ended up in jail for assault.

The lawyer fights the cop's case & 12 steps him into AA.

Both are now in AA. Lawyer 20 years. Cop 4years.

The lawyer is now his sponsor.

Strange things happen in AA. That is why my sponsor used to say:"Be careful of what you say,the newcomer might just end up as your sponsor."

We just never know when God is gonna give someone the gift of sobriety ... or when they will accept it ...

Funny...honest lawyers, that's an oxymoron if I ever heard one. No offense to any lawyers out there (eeeks). The addition that was built onto my lawyers house, was paid for by...guess who??? If that's any consolation to the lawyers of the world. My alcoholic past...His gain. Nice trade-off...for my lawyer that is.

P.S. His house does look nice...Mine on the hand...Well...let's leave it at that.
