The speaker tonight shared that he was mistakenly confined to a mental ward. He said that he had learnt more about sharing & caring from those inmates.

But his stay was short lived. After being there for 4 days he was transferred back to a general ward. The hospital had arranged a Christmas show for the inmates & the doctors were there also. They found that his behaviour was rather strange. He was restless, irritated & discontented, while the rest of them were joyous, happy & free.

The BB says that we are different from other people. Indeed we are.

The reason why they sent him to the mental ward was because of this reply: The sister who interviewed him asked him what plans he had for his future and he replied that he wanted to do God's will.

Hi My friend,

For some reason this Post threw be back to the words of Scott Peck, a wonderful man and author or two Books, he spoke often of Alcoholics, and his LOVE for them. in his First Book, "The Road Less Traveled" on the New York Best Seller top 10 for over10 years,  his writings reminded me so much of our own Carl Jung that had such a powerful effect on AA, for the first time (Carl Yung) that you cannot heal an Alcoholic without a Spiritual Conversion, he and Sigmund Froid, being the two top phychaitrist in the world, he left Sigmond, as Froid (spelling?) as Fruid felt that a person was made of phyical body and mind, and Carl Jung felt that man had three componants, body, mind and Soul, well sorry for the long winded explanation, but this generation Scott Peck felt the same way, in his Second Book, "Further Down the Road Less Traveled, he devoted a Chapter to the Alcoholic, and his definition was clear. He wrote that Alcoholics were people that Just Needed God more than other people did.he said, jokingly, maybe, after attending so many of AA open meetings, he WISHED he was Alcoholic, because of the love he had for everyone he met in AA. His Chapter on Grace is the most beautiful thing I have ever read on an explanation of this mysterious wonder of Grace. I was waiting for his next Book when it was in the News that he had died, he was in his 50s, that was one very sad day for me, his death  haunted me for months.....

So Gonee, yes we do need God, more than others being the Best Gift I have ever received, and never taken for Granted. I am just so happy that I am different in that way.

Great Post, and not the least restless, irratable or discontent, not quite yet to the happy Joyous, and Free yet, have Not done a gratitude list in my mind, and my second coffee is waiting.......smiling......I'll get there, well I guess because I am different.....ok being silly here.

Not Silly now when I say  Thank You God for making me one of your "Different Children", with Gratitude, and Faith, I thank you, but you already see that, I Pray

God Bless Gonee, a Man that lives in his Faith, and shows others how to have a Loving Relationship with YOU. One of our Heros in this big wide world, that by sight Alone, who would ever know?  WE recovering Alcoholic believe in YOU, and certainly NEED you in my life!!!!

tonicakes........wonderful way to start this Day in the 11th Step.
