Hello, this is my first time on this website, and looking forward to making new sober friendships.

The road to recovery was a messy wreckage I left behind. I began drinking Wild Turkey shots for my teeth pain I was going thru and didn't have Dental Ins. But that 1-shot turned into 6-years of destruction. I was a stay-at-home alcoholic and the last 2-years of drinking I didn't leave my room unless going to the bathroom. I quit driving the last year of my drinking cuz I refused to be behind a wheel drunk, however, since I was drunk 24/7 I never got into a car behind the wheel. My family had given up on me ever being sober again...This is my 4x trying sobriety, and so far its working. My sobriety came with the police taking me to the ER and then being put on lock-in for 2-weeks.

There I was able to get detoxed and begin on this new journey of a clearer headed person. It is still difficult for me, I still want to get drunk, but I know that this disease would kill me. When I was admitted to the hospital my blood alcohol level was a .331-and I was still walking and talking at this point. When I finally got back with my family that was the beginning of learning the destruction I had made. The things my kids told me I said, and or my actions truely tore me up. Not being able to remember ruining my daughters High School graduation for just 1-example. I broke windows put holes in the walls...i was just a person no one wanted to be around, including myself. 

I'm blessed for my sobriety today...and i couldn't have done it without my family not giving up on me when I had given up on me.
