A normal alcoholic I mean...because it's day five and I feel weird. I feel like I can't concentrate, I feel tense and my muscles kind of ache, and I'm really hypersensitive and cranky. I've quit for spurts here and there before but I don't remember feeling this way. Is this what happens when you stop drinking? Or am I blossoming into womanhood :p
Seriously, if this is what PMS feels like I have a new found sympathy for you ladies.
it's called Post Accute Withdrawal. I think it's different for everyone. I forgot things, was very cranky at times, felt sick to my stomach some..........
Kidding of course...however...commiting to this new way of living is going to be a whole new ride at the amusement park than what you've been used to. The first thing you will probably encounter after getting off the merry-go-round, is the roller-coaster. It will be a while before you get to the smooth little boat ride through "It's a Small World After All".
You are likely to be much more acutely aware of your feelings and emotions after committing to the change, even though you may have had longer "dry" periods before going AA. At least, that is how it has been for me.
