when the kitten catches the mouse

Wednesday night I dropped in on a sponsee who wanted to talk through an issue.

After we'd gone through that issue, he asked how I was.

I told him. Felt bereft. Felt lonely. Felt anxious, like a mouse was dancing on my heart.

So he said that he felt like that a bit ago. Then a couple of years ago he got talking to someone in a queue and now two years later they live together. You just don't know what's round the corner.

So my kitten had leapt up, caught the mouse and killed it for the cat.

Love it when that happens. Fellowship in action.

glad to see you looking on the positive side, taking steps, pushing back against the pain, not avoiding it, not magnifying it.  good to see and learn from your ES&H.  jj

Yes my sponsees help me as much as they say I help them.Therapeutic value of one helping another is without parallel...smile

One alcoholic to another.  I've learnt no matter the time in sobriety and recovery; we can learn from everyone, if we keep an open heart and open mind.

Sometimes as a Sponser my head tells me I'm above my sponsee's and they have nothing to offer.  disbelief  Damn head.....   I must be rid of the arrogant, prideful, self-righteous attitude. I pray frequently for humility.  Humility will make me an equal, loving and tolerant individual.  One with open ears instead of an open mouth.

That was a nice analogy on fellowship, Bill, and one I most certainly will remember. Thanks...

Great saying Bill! As you they tell us when we're new in the Fellowship, sometimes the sponsor needs to hear from you as much as you need to hear from him or her.
