Hey everyoneIm trying to get some help from my fellow recovering friends. Im looking for people in recovery who own a dog to complete a brief survey on how their dogs have influenced their recoveries. It only takes a few minutes and would REALLY appreciate your help.
Also if you know anyone in recovery who owns a dog, see if they would be willing to take the survey as well Thanks guys!!
PM this poster for the URL of the survey. Or this poster could post this on their "Whiteboard" in their profile

I don't own any animals, krisjun, even though my friends do. I guess owning a pet has therapeutic benefits, since they are part of our extended family. Referring to dogs as "Man's best friend" seems appropriate and rightfully so. Anyone or anything that can serve us with so much devotion as animals do must have a special place in our hearts and that's certainly worth mentioning. I hope the relationship with your dog blossoms just as much as your relationship does with recovering alcoholics here on MIP.
~God bless~

dogs are great, they love you unconditionally, and are pretty much always happy if you look after them. My dog crys when I come in the house he knows what my steps sound like :) and he always wants to be around me, which is nice, so i can definately say in my case it does make you happier, but I'd guess it'll be dependent on character of your dog.
