Another event where I rely on experience and God and program. As it happens I was on my way to the bank to join a couple other members of my Sunday group to sign checking account cards. We're changing treasurers and alternates and I was stepping up. Made a decision to take the shortest route even with lots of time to get there. That route happens to have a 25% down grade and a 25MPH speed limit. I get gunned from the bushes and around a curve at 48 in a 25. My response? you've gotta be kidding. From a dead stop a couple hundred yards zero to 48 in a 87 Mazda B2200 with 186k on the odometer? Yeah okay so lets include gravity (down hill) and still I'm more surprised than proud of this little box truck. Course there are other conditions to this picture which makes it ludacris(?). There were other people and vehicles stopped in my path and I was on binders safely.
During my drinking years I was in a daily pitched battle with the cops...daily. I think the Dirty Harry statement "make my day" actually originated from the group who use to be addicted to me. Back then I earned a lot of it...not so today. I don't like the game they play when they can play a more ethical behavior. Last time this happened it got thrown out of court and then the judge attempted to hook me with an expired parking meter while I was in court which got thrown out itself because she arrived late and delayed hearing.
I was given choices of course...I noticed that he was trying to convince me of 46 in a 25 rather than what the gun showed at 48. He also was gonna give me a break if I told him I'd install my state license plates over my nationality plates. I am a native Hawaiian and not an American citizen...That makes me kinda like an oversized lightening bug however it does cause local cops to challenge their own orgins and their employment of choice. "I understand" I've told them and they let it go.
However I used to spend a lot of time in court (back then) much of the outcome coming in m direction. I get the urge at times to just kneel and bow until I hear my HP's voice or the program's voice (can be the same) "to thine own self be true".
I refused to sign the ticket telling the very young officer "have them send the notice to my home" with the court date. I'm looking at this as life on life's terms and that not all of our lives are exactly the same. I was taught by sponsorship to rebuild my value systems and then hold them rigid... My value system evolved into "Fair, honest and just." Time to take this event and run it thru the filter of this value system and then ask HP for input and direction.
One thing was different...sure are a hell of alot less sparks and lightening when I'm not drinking thanks to HP and the program.
I remember in Poughkeepsie New york,they put in an arterial Highway they called it!(BACK IN EARLY 80"S !East /West 30 mph highway for traffic through the town and city..I still swear it is an end of the month "ticket payoff" for local law enforcement STILL TODAY(easy Mike,dont get cranky:)Anyway first couple of weeks there were so many tickets issued I thought Poughkeepsie could have built a new city hall with the take.So i GET NAILED DOING LIKE 36 MPH (CAR DIDNT EVEN SHIFT TO NEXT GEAR AND i SAID,RIDICULOUS.im fighting this baby ,people are lined up at the court ,finally I get up to Judge and Im pleading my case..Judge looks at me and says"how fast was the speed zone" I said 30MPH your honor(not mine)he says 'HOW FAST WERE YOU GOING"I said 36, me seeing the folly in this unfair ticket, ALMOST IN ONE SWING AND SPEECH PATTERN.GUILTY SAYS THE JUDGE, .PAY THE BAILIFF!!!$*(&^$#)) THATS WHAT i SAID UNDER MY BREATHE..spiritual principles were not part of my tool box back then and boy did I have it out for that Judge...yeah right,what im gonna do???I'll teach him I'll go get twisted........the difference is today for me I WORK ON A NEW WAY TO "TEACH EM A LESSON",,starting to see where I was in the picture...I still stand up for myself nowadays as I have learned to approach situations in a thoughtful and matter of fact ways.Some days STILL get shot down ,others its okay...Let me know how you make out Good luck Jerry. like to see what the "system" is doiNG in that part of the planet........no matter what though ,i bet we wont drink over it:) :)

Amen my brother,,some fridays i get to 3/7/11 some tuesdays/wednesdays(band rehearsals on wednesdays now) get to primary purpose on vassar road....yes we sold our house and moved to hyde park so dont go up the "arterial " much.....:) :)
