Hi all. After a meeting I was talking to a fellow who is a board member for our local Alano club and he mentioned a debate about how to handle comings and goings for the club.
I said I might ask here for feed back on how such things are handled at other clubs.
Currently in our town there are keys to the club and members who have paid an annual fee can take a key. They estimate that there are tons of keys out there, and there have been problems with sleep-overs and violations of club code. Changing the locks is one option and they are considering going with a lock with a changable code that is on a timer to self lock and open before and after meeting times.
If anyone here has experience or input to share it would be appreciated.
Thanks Mark, for the reply. I suppose they'll have to budget in one way or another which ever route they go. If I get too involved I imagine I'll get to being on the member board myself. Our problems have not been too severe. Most everyone wants to stay in good with the landlord because the location is a prime spot downtown and it would be a shame to lose it because of a couple of people.
Sounds like time to change the locks. My school uses key cards and an electronic system with an alarm code that can monitor who has been in the building after school hours. The key cards cannot be duplicated. This type of system would be more expensive, but may solve your problem. Just a thought. Heather
