Prayer and support

I am a true believer in the power of prayer and thru the years I have learned that sharing my anxieties and pain with others just like me is integral for my continued positive spiritual condition. My wifes younger sister(40"s)was just admitted to ICU for suicide attempt,we are still finding out the situation. She has a history of drug/alcohol abuse/many diagnosis and on many different medications.Yesterday we had the 14 year old son with us for overnite as the cops wanted her arrested for domestic violence which turned out to be not true as the son is also stricken with many different issues one of being diagnosed as delusional and pathologically dishonest among violence/anger etc.Long story, short, instead of child being sent to Juvie,he went back home until placement can be found after a long scenario at our home.....Diane(her name so your prayer can lift her name)called late last night ,said she was tired of this life, totally XANAX'ED OUT and subtly saying she had it.This is not out of the norm for her,she has threatened many times.....Anyway I am just asking if you would hold her and our family in prayer as we go thru a difficult situation.I am praying and reassuring my wife that it is not her fault(should I have done something, called someone etc)that God's will is put forth in this situation and that the children maybe get to a placement that will be healthy for them at the moment.  Diane's boyfriend, the father of one of the children,is an illegal alien and there are many more scenarios with that situation that create much difficulty.....I dont normally put our business on the street ,but this is pain I needed to share.I will contact my sponsor and let him know whats up.My mother in law may try to fly up from Florida but she is diagnosed with severe dimensia and early ALZTHIMERS so thats another area to work we are now working on(sister in law may bring her) .We are okay and know that God is in charge and will seek His guidance in days to come..Thanks for listening and being here.....

Well...at least you are the example of what sobriety can do. A walking big book for those still sick and suffering. Check out the alanon site Mike...it might be a good place for this stuff, not that ths is the wrong place to share about it because it does affect your sobriety.

Hey Mark .thanks for input,I am an active member of Nar-Anon(similar to Al-Anon)dealing more exclusively with drugs(alcohol is a drug, dont we know)as my now 24 year old son is in recovery from Heroin addiction(since 17)(on 125mg's of Methadone,an area where we disagree, but each responsible for our own recoveries)   I have been active for more than 4 years there.(my recovery after 22 years was shaken and I needed help).I have gift of many fellowships and most of all the ability to trust in my  Master Sponsor ,MY GOD!,WHO HAS LEAD US THROUGH MANY YEARS OF TRIALS.....Thanks for being here......................

Wow Mike, lots goin on in you and your family's life right now.

When pressure and stress show up in my home and family I pray, take my time making decisions, get to meetings, talk to my sponsor, and remember to count my blessings.

My prayer is that you are able to get thru this, and your sis in law gets better as well as her Son. Seems many are affected. But, nothing for you to pick up a drink over. And Im sure you know that too smile.gif

For me, dealing with serious and complex trauma and drama like this sober has been (is) much more painful and difficult than going through it under the influence, which of course was always painful and difficult anyway. I pray that god's angels of mercy and warriors of health surround each in need in your family, and his grace flows to and through you. I pray that human fears, doubts, sorrow or anger will never get the upper hand in your own journey through this terrible time.

"Abandon your self to God as you understand God..."  The prayers are sent Mike
with the awareness that it has always been a God thing and we have to do our part.
Let's hope that we continue to find HP's will a whole lot more inviting than our own.

((((hugs)))) smile
