We've both been here about the same length of time and your post count is more than 12x what mine is... LOL. I guess I'm not as talkative as I thought. My home group members would disagree, as would members of some other on-line forums I belong to.
I think part of why I don't post more is because I have that "they've heard it all before" feeling even though this is NOT my home group that has been hearing my musings and story for all these years.
One reason I come here is because the newcomer percentage is much, much higher than I'm used to. I need to hear from the newcomers, I need to read the rants and vents and rationalizations. It reminds me of me, it reminds me of how the disease works on our brains. Unfortunately, I rarely have a lot to say to the newcomers - most of you guys do it better than I can. I try to respond in areas I have experience and the frequent newcomer situation - in trouble with the law, major family issues, whole family drinking - aren't really within my experience. So maybe within AA, more so than other subjects I've been known to discuss, I'm more likely to shut up if I don't have something truly relevant to contribute.
