Good morning! Welcome to another day of "life".Today is my wife's 50th birthday and we will celebrate quietly together,no hoopla(did that Saturday)During my daily office,my early morning reflection time with God,I was focusing on how our attitudes(I'll keep it on myself)my attitudes toward others reflect my relationship with God.I am constantly reminding myself to really work in my relations with others, sometimes can be very  trying ,but well worth the work.I was also thinking how much the "intent" of what I do is important. We seem at times to "keep the rule" but close our eyes to the intent of the rule.E.G.  ...We may not murder people ,but we may hate them in our hearts..We may not carry on sexual affairs that are harmful but we may incessantly 'lust ' in our hearts...and so on.....The old song from Sgt.Barry McGuire I used to listen to while skipping school ,drinking and smoking and doing my thing reminds of his lyrics..We can leave here for 4 days in space ,but when we return its the same old place, hate your next door neighbor but don't forget to say grace>!I guess I'm having a reflection on how grateful I am to be part of any celebration, how through God's grace, the spiritual principles of our program applied in our lives and the support of my peers I am willing and able to not only look at the guidelines but understand their intent and do the work to the best of my ability. Thanks for allowing me to share in my own recovery once again and being part of "the solution" and continually working toward the goal of being all our Higher Power intended us to be,a day at a time.Peace ,have a blessed and productive day.As you can see my mind is already running full throttle:) :)(a blessing, lucid, clear and open....)smile

Birthdays are fabulous! And I am feeling your gratitude! Enjoy! Enjoy!

Your post reminded me of an awesome meeting I went to once, the topic was on one of the four absolutes, Purity. It was all new to me, but the old-timers mostly spoke about PURITY OF MOTIVE. My eyes were opened, it expanded on the idea of "intent" for me. I am grateful.

The "keeping it on myself" part was the best cause that is entirely what I am
responsible to and for.  My relationship with my HP is a very personal one and
HP seems to have kept it that way for a long time.  I'm grateful and desire
to be one of HP's instruments.  smile
