I might have become so focused on solving all the problems in my life that I haven't noticed the little problems that arise each day. Do I have anything that needs to be completed or resolved today? I will take a moment each day and work on what I need to do just for that day.
Even though solving long-term problems is necessary, so is solving the smaller daily problems. Not allowing things to pile up keeps me from feeling overwhelmed.
Today I will pay attention to what needs to be solved today.
Give to the world the best you have and the best will come back to you. --Madeline Bridges
Sometimes we feel lazy or bored, and then we don't do our best work. Maybe our writing becomes hard to read, or we miss a porch when delivering newspapers. Perhaps we are daydreaming instead of listening closely to what a friend is trying to tell us. When we are not really paying attention to our activities or the people around us, we'll likely miss out on something important because we do receive in equal measure what we give. And this truth works in every aspect of our lives.
When we treat our friends, our families, even people we don't know well with kindness, we'll experience kindness in return. Our own actions and attitudes toward others are what we can expect from others as well.
How can I increase the kindness in the world today?
My life goes sooooooo much better when I don't think I have to be the fixer of all things, when I don't feel that the great I must personally solve all the worlds problems. I feel so much better when I start the day only thinking about taking care of what needs done today; and my day ends so much better, when I am satisfied that I took care of what I could.
Wow, there is so much more to that prayer when you look at it from different perspectives...
God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change,
