It's internet Geekspeak for online forums that means that may have been an overshare
"In Before The Lock"
We share in a general way, which means we generally don't share about our peepees, especially about who did what when where how with them, it's inappropriate, it's a bit tooooo specific, especially as this is a mixed gender forum with ladies present, not just "women" but ladies If you hurry you can erase that stuff before you get banned

Nothing wrong with the pain, it will go away, we just need it to get better and start a new way of life and hit bottom. I pity those who never feel enough pain to change.
I got sober in Cleveland also, 10-2-84, about a year before you where born, If you have to be a drunk, it's a good place to be, very strong AA groups and support.
take Care,
Rob

i guess u want me bannned >? for sharing my experience and maybe helping others get these 12 steps in their lives aswel and a God of there understanding, unfortunately were not all weekend warriorz - we do have REAL ALCOHOLICS in this program who have the Mental Obsession of the mind = this is a thinking dicease not drinking plus the allergy wich sets the phenoenon of craving rolling then itz a done deal Dicease of a two fold nature.
THE DOCTORS OPINION pg. xxviii = We believe and so suggested, the action of alcohol on -> these (Chronic Alcoholics) is a manifestation of an allergy: the phenomenon of craving is limited to this class and NEVER occurs in the average Drinker./thinker = these allergic types can never safely use alcohol in any FORM at ALL. -- Edited by Full Flight on Wednesday 19th of January 2011 02:48:47 PM

That's my story and I'm sticking to it, sounds like an attitude of "I like where I'm at no matter what I say and I'll be damned if I'll change until I'm liking it."
So what is it about old timers that you don't like and think they should change?
Their time in sobriety? Their knowledge and experiences on how to use the tools of recovery? Their obviously stronger grip of the coat-tails of a Higher Power, a sponsor (with time) and this AA program of recovery? Are you wishing that all sober members be in your condition and position?
You thinking we need what you have or are you coming here to get some of what we have?
It's not yak, yak, yak...rather walk, walk, walk. You can't "get it" by yakking. You get it by listening, learing, following and daily practice, practice, practice.
Been there done that except for the bag and decided to be somewhere else. You want something different...do something different cause what you're doing just doesn't sound like it has worked in the past nor will it now or later on.
#2. Came to believe that a POWER GREATER than ourselves could lead us to Sanity.
After I got that step inside of me I said, "Dear God....PLEASE take this from me."
Then I was gone. I don't know what GOD did with it. I didn't ask what or where it was located. That was #3.
Do you want #2?
Keep coming back. This place has stuff you can really stick with; might even help you loose the bag.
((((hugs))))

Heya FF, Hardcore BB thumper alcoholic of the hopeless variety here, no where in our literature does it say it's OK we act inappropriately in public, as a matter of fact our literature says the exact opposite, especially step 10 says the exact opposite, our job is to grow in understanding and effectiveness, nowhere in our literature does it say it's OK to dump our dirty laundry in public, as a matter of fact step 5 says the opposite, it says we share with somebody, not everybody
We must be entirely honest with somebody if we expect to live long or happily in this world. Rightly and naturally, we think well before we choose the person or persons with whom to take this intimate and confidential step. Those of us belonging to a religious denomination which requires confession must, and of course, will want to go to the properly appointed authority whose duty it is to receive it. Though we have no religious conception, we may still do well to talk with someone ordained by an established religion. We often find such a person quick to see and understand our problem. Of course, we sometimes encounter people who do not understand alcoholics.
If we cannot or would rather not do this, we search our acquaintance for a close-mouthed, understanding friend. Perhaps our doctor or psychologist will be the person. It may be one of our own family, but we cannot disclose anything to our wives or our parents which will hurt them and make them unhappy. We have no right to save our own skin at another person's expense. Such parts of our story we tell to someone who will understand, yet be unaffected. The rule is we must be hard on ourself, but always considerate of others.
To say that this behavior is condoned by the steps is incorrect and potentially harmful to newcomers who otherwise might have been helped except for such stupidity, we don't vomit our crap at group level, we discuss solution
We share in a general way what it was like, what happened, and what it's like now
5. Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. (not every human being, someone we trust)
10. Continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
This thought brings us to Step Ten, which suggests we continue to take personal inventory and continue to set right any new mistakes as we go along. We vigorously commenced this way of living as we cleaned up the past. We have entered the world of the Spirit. Our next function is to grow in understanding and effectiveness. This is not an overnight matter. It should continue for our lifetime. Continue to watch for selfishness, dishonesty, resentment, and fear. When these crop up, we ask God at once to remove them. We discuss them with someone immediately and make amends quickly if we have harmed anyone. Then we resolutely turn our thoughts to someone we can help. Love and tolerance of others is our code.

Hi bill recovered alcoholic. Somewhere in that book it says that noone has sunk to low not to be welcomed .it also says that even thou I might have mental and emotional problems if I have the capacity to be honest I can recover. But honest with some one who is like me.? Not likely on this site .that is as judgmental as any thing else . We hope you don't find our accounts to tasteless but we find that it might be helpful to tell it all paraphrasing lin be nice! It sounds like some quality soberiety to me. I am a free man today . Thanks to my support group .we are people who would normally not mix. But it so happens that we follow the same path and the same solution and commence in the shoulder to shoulder work. My sponsor tells me to share what's going on with me. So I can get some solution . Pen and paper ! 4 5 with your sponsor then 6 and 7 with your god 8 list more pen and paper and 9 make the amends 10 walk around all dat and continue to look and when they crop at once ask god to remove them and then go serve him . Apon awakening and when you retire. Thank you for sharing full flight . It helped me take a look at me . I hope this helps you cause you have helped me. To lookat how I will judge what I am not doing instead of just doing . !
I have all the love and tolerance in the world for FF, it's not about shooting our wounded, it's about explaining something to somebody who obviously didn't know
If I explain acceptable behavior to my child am I shooting my wounded?
If I explain appropriate behavior to a newcomer I am not shooting our wounded, I am explaining something he obviously didn't know, we don't talk in explicit details about our sexual (mis)conduct in a group setting or on a public forum, now I know that this is an unpopular idea in this day and age of zero accountability and "no child left behind" where the schools move children to the next grade to keep them with their peers rather then make them do the work to advance to the next grade, but if I see someone talking explicitly about where they put their peepee with who on this forum peopled by men and women I have respect for, I am going to say something, same thing in a meeting, if the secretary doesn't have the strength of character, isn't there, or doesn't know (s)he has the responsibility to keep shares on target, if someone starts talking about tying strings around their penis, and blowing their cousin, I am going to speak up.
Period
It's called respecting the house you are in and the people in it, and nothing the BB says excuses that behavior in any way shape or form, if this was a mens forum, or a mens meeting, I'd have no problem with it, but it isn't, there are women and children present, and I don't care who you are or what book you read, disrespect women and children in front of me, be homophobic, racist or sexist, and you and I are going to have a problem.
I have love and tolerance for others, that's exactly why I spoke up, not sure when respecting the proper decorum and common decency turned into shooting our wounded, but then I'm not very smart, and I'm a bit old fashioned that way, because in my book I don't care who you are or who your daddy is, that is unacceptable.

Nobody is getting banned, unless they start smearing anti-aa crap like mr. orange. Full flight you're in the right place. This is a nice community (family) here with regular people who care. We are the same people that you used to drink with, but have found a new way to live happily without mood altering substances. Stick around and help US to stay sober.
Bill recovered alcoholic. I always wake up on self .I am areal one.after I ask him to divorce my thinking from self pity dishonest and self seeking motives. After I. Consider my plans I also consider some facts about my life.selfish self centered fearful pride ego blame self rightous.indignant. jugdemental.resentful.lazy grandious self esteem . Security pocketbook.relations including my questionable sex conduct my inventory right off the rip! Just like the day before I can not remove these and I have to surrender these.to god to remove these this morning.so that I can get his presence his grace and mercy. He cleans me up and I. Go serve him and tell on myself. I may not be pretty about it especially when its some thing I really want or think I need. As in the puirsiut of happyness. You know life would be great. I had to stop managing and running the show .I also have to remain willing to be honest and open minded. Even now after all this .the list of impossables on the top of this is long. I need him more now than when I got here. Put some steps on this .I have to every day.thank god for a 12 step program.
