well, at first the board kept logging me out when i tried to reply on this post, hence the (((Rick))) post.
Hey Phil??
big hugs to you to!!! YOur big wig doc's calls?? hang in there, my prayers are with you.
glad to keep you sober:), now to keep myself that way, and Rick? ewwwe, i did get good and sick this time, not worth it my friend. Honest, nor is how i felt about myself after the fact. We are alkies, we can't change that. But we can live sober if we choose to. I choose it, wanna join me? I know that ' happy drunk, and miserable sober' thing, that was my copout. I can be happy sober. i can, i can, i can. It's another one of those choices!
Gotta tell ya guys...it's working for me. I am definitely staying sober today, on a wing and a prayer, and knowing that it ain't working for those that are going out. You are too important to me to lose to this disease...
Rick...do what you gotta do and get your ass back in AA. Whatever it is, we will always love and respect you for the person you are.
Wendy...I'm not that far from you...do I need to come? Just say the word and I'll be there.
Phil...as always, I am thinking of you and praying that your health and well-being be what it needs to be for you. I can feel the pain in your posts and I wish I could take it all away.
Hi Rick, stick with it. I think the first time is probably the worst, at least after that you know what to expect!
I'm sure we all have had a relapse at some time. Almost had one last week. I went as far as going into the shop and buying a bottle of whisky. I got it home, gave it to my fiancee and asked her to pour it away. It's just too easy to slip into the old bad habits.
Regard the relapse as a learning experience and don't beat yourself up too much.
We are here for you.
Best wishes
Chris.
