Worked Christmas Eve. I work from home and was at the home office all wekk so not a problem then my sober Buddy came over from Preston for the Christmas Break. We both live alone so we keep each other company.
Christmas Eve - a meeting, heatwarming. Was referred to as Hundred year Bill. Behave, said I, I haven't been alive that long never mind sober that long. Looks like it though, she said. Should I be flattered?
Christmas Day - late breakfast, then a meeting at Lunchtime where my buddy was asked to main share. Uplifting meeting, then home for roast venison, roast vegetables (butternut squash, celeriac, carrot) and new potatoes, with gravy and quince cheese, followed by Christmas Pudding with Greek yoghurt then.......
another meeting and my buddy was asked to share again! Back home and early bed.
Today, Boxing Day, race down to the shops to get a new Berghaus jacket, race back and light the fire, have a late brunch and see my mate off to Preston.
Now all that doesn't sound like much, sounds pretty sedate really - but it was definitely the best Christmas I've had as an adult.

That sounds like a VERY busy holiday, and a wonderful one too. Spending it with a good friend seems like a terrific idea! Glad you had a great weekend, Bill.

So glad it was a good Christmas for you Bill. Mine was good, too. no sneak drinking no guilt no shame no fights no anger just family and friends (although missing Mum, our first Christmas without her) good times with cooking and sharing good dinner with too many desserts with love and joy and freedom from the enslaver alcohol
hugs jj/sheila
