December 2

Fires, floods and epidemics are nobody's business - they are everybody's business. Alcoholism is equally devastating and just as much a community catastrophe.

We in AA are unique in that we are trained veterans in the art of combating this disease. Its prevalence demands the complete cooperation of every qualified man or woman, and we are guilty of dereliction of duty and lacking in gratitude to the Grace of God that saved us, if we do anything less than our utmost.

Helen,
I agree.  I feel like I need to pass on what was so freely given to me.  Not only to stay sober as Step 12 tells us, but to be there for the newcomer who still suffers.  There was someone there for me and I think it's my resposibility to be for someone else.  Pass it on...

Responsbility prayer:  When anyone- anywhere- reaches out for help- I want the hand of AA to always be there- and for that I'm responsible.

I agree.

Very well put. You're really a great writer, hope you keep using it to inspire us!

Glad you like the message and the writing, but it's not mine.

"The Eye Opener" is a book of daily inspiration that has gone out of favor. I got a copy and liked what I read, so I thought I'd pass it along.

I am the typist (and sometimes the cut-and-paste -ist), the writing credit goes to "Anonymous".

We cannot keep what we don't give away.
