Going away for the weekend. It's our annual AA, Alanon and Alateen roundup. My family and I have been going there for the last 22 years. The kids were 6 & 2. They still like to attend. Their friends have grown up with them in recovery. The entire resort on the beach is booked. It's great because we have made so many friends over the years and make new ones this year. The weather is always great. God has blessed us more than we can ever imagine. In the beginning when I came to AA a broken man, I just could not contemplate life reaching any type of normality.
I was just happy to be sober. As I started on the 12 steps, life started to change. I never liked doing anything over and over, but the steps had to be done like that and spiritual progress is ongoing. I have never experienced anything like it and my perception of AA changed forever. My family also.
