God! How long since I've been here? Too long for sure. Where to begin....1st of all, I'm still sober and owe some of that to you folks here...truth! I guess the last time I was here was when I was unemployed, trying to heal and waiting to go back to work. I think I was trying to get a job with the RCMP (canadian police dept) and was turned away temporarily due to a DUI 30 years ago. Anyhoo...none of that panned out so at the ripe old age of 50, I decided to join the Canadian Navy! I applied, was accepted, went to boot camp and am now on course on a Navy base in beautiful British Columbia. It has been over a year for this whirlwind adventure and I can't wait to get home to Nova Scotia to be with my wife. It has been a crazy time I must say but don't feel too old being in this gig really. I always maintained a relatively high level of physical fitness....that sure came in handy during the 3.5 months in boot camp, lol. I am now surrounded by young boys and girls who like to drink heavilly , have sex and party all the time. OK, I know what you're thinking.....but this is where AA comes in, lots of meetings here to go to. I'm really doing fine, even took a few youngens under my wing....always liked the 12th step. I will read thru the posts, try to catch up a bit and hope everyone I remember is doing ok.
Scott
