I just got back into AA this week after a foolish 8-year hiatus. I did not drink constantly during that time. A health kick phase kept me dry for a couple of years. Alas, my house was built on sand though. Without clinging to the truth of my higher power I was doomed. I have now been sober for a week and guard my surrender chip like a family heirloom. I am meeting terrific people in my meetings. Today I attended two. Looking forward to getting my first sponsor tomorrow night, at least a temporary one. I also look forward to reading and posting more on this site.

Hey Walt, Welcome to MIP, you are in the right place. Remember to put that surrender chip in your mouth if you feel like drinking and if it melts you might can have a drink? They never seem to melt though...

Keep doing what your doing. A sponsor is a must.
