I wanted to update everyone--you all were so kind to respond to my posts.

My husband completed a 7 day  inpatient rehab and started IOP.  He's attended AA but not everyday.  He went back to work today.  He hasn't worked since March.

I'm cautiously optimistic at this point.  I can see that he's really trying---but it's hard to put the past hurts behind me.  That's my thing to figure out.

Thanks for the support.

Hi Mom.

Awesome news! One day at the time, right?!

If you're not already doing this, may I suggest Al Anon  or maybe you can attend Open AA meetings with (or without) your husband. I believe alcoholism/addiction is a Family disease. It affects all and in order to heal the family, "treatment" is needed for the family.

Please keep me posted. You're all in my prayers.

With love,

Doll

Hi Mom,

Thanks for the update. I am so happy that your husband is trying to get some help. I hope that you will attend al-anon so that you can also heal...as Doll stated above, this is a family disease. You deserve all the happiness that you can get...but for people like you alot of us AA's would be dead right now.

With love, cheri

Alas, he's not sober anymore.

Worked one day--got a call from a friend--you know the drill--went out, stayed out and missed work today.

Luckily, nothing changes for me whether he's sober or not.  My life runs the same.  I asked him to move out and he did--conveniently on a Friday night while on out of town friend is here.

I am very disappointed with him.  He's not there yet.
