Nearly 630 over here in the UK and trick or treaters out in full force. Love Halloween - was my favorite when I was a kid.

Best part, thanks to AA, I'm sober on Halloween!

Best to all

Steve

I remember a few pretty good drunks on Halloween, scary for sure, no treat. Went to 2 meetings today and it's sure nice to hand out candy and not be falling over at the door and slurring my words to the little childrens.

Halloween was always a good excuse to get smashed I suppose. Alkies love a good excuse. Good and grateful to be sober today.

Happy Halloween everyone.  I was an an angel last year, big surprize, ha! and finally got to be Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz this year.  I loved being reminded of some aspects of the story  that parallel recovery for me:  The cyclone and landing in la-la land(unmangability/ emotional fantasyland), The scary journey to find a way back center or home(yellow brick road/12 steps).. Realizing my idol is human and can't fix everything(Oz/sponsor).  Support is everywhere and not necessarily where I expect to find it(scarecrow, tin-man, lion etc./fellowship, program tools like slogans).  I can get back to my place  and center my life by repeating a simple affirmation or prayer with intention, like, "There's no place like home" only when I am ready to accept and believe in appropriate help(Glinda the good witch/HP and step 3).

Seahawks losthmm, Giants are up over the Texanssmile and Amazing Race is on tonightthumbsup.gif
