Just thought I'd drop in

Its been a while since I shared anything, things are going ok. College applications with my daughter have been challenging, also working on getting a Van on the road.
AGH!!! lol but that's ok, the out come is worth the work.

Just got into a bit of a discussion with my son who has Bypolar, that in it self is another thing,  I just explained to him it's ok to be 21 and want to hang with ur friends but not all the time when it consist of drinking and party.

2 ur living at home, I don't want to be around it and it's starting to get on my nerves. Lets just I'm slowly getting to the point of letting go of the apron strings and if he wants to be mad that's fine too.

Is it me or is it that fact that some of the kids just don't get it,  I know what I have to do. And I guess I'm just gonna have to come out with it.......  And let him know it's time to move..........  As much I don't want to do it, it has to be done.......

Thanks for letting me vent, have a good day..

tina

Yeah-the tuff love part is...well...tuff. But necessary--if I want to stay sober I jsut can't be that close to anyone who is drinking. Plus, drinking along with a bipolar disorder-and any meds that go with it--is a dangerous game, and painful to watch. Hope your son can get some educaiton about that combo that he is willing to listen to.

Lovely to see you still connected in fellowship & sobriety, Tina. Good to see you letting go of the apron strings too. That can't be easy even for you but great growth, aye. Loving & letting go is a real craft in recovery I see lol Good luck in the process. Thinking of you & sending you loving prayers & support, Danielle x

THANKS guys

Yes Sobriety spell I still am connected with the fellowship and my sobriety.  Its never easy for a parent to let go of the apron strings, I just find in even harder when ur a single parent sometimes.

But am at that point now, I Have to worry about my sobriety, and let him do somemore growing up and focus on my daughter which I haven't let this get in the road of that.

But at the same time, I got to be realistic and remember he's got a problem.

Thanks

Hugs
