Welcome to the "Fellowship of The Spirit"

Bill knew a thing or two about staying sober and the fellowship of the spirit

SO, I have to ask, was it worth overcoming your fear of public speaking? Were you shaking, couldn't think, paniced, and then once you started rolling before you knew it, it was over and it was like you were in a black out?

Except the difference between this and an alcohol induced blackout, if we get out of our own way God does the driving

Welcome

Very Big stuff

Atillio...great work...often times you will not become aware of how you affected the
spirit of another alcoholic or addict.  Some will come and say thank you and others
will quietly change for the better and desire what you have in their own sobriety.

Thanks for working it as suggested.   ((((((Big Hug)))))) smile

I told him i had many times but  i also told him to come back and let this beautiful program and the people that are in it give him the love and selfrespect he is longing for until he will see it in himself,I thought that was pure aa magic at its best.LOVE YOU ALL GOD BLESS ...............HUUUUUGS

That "blackout" is freedom from the bondage of self

hearing someone's 5th step and giving them mine is the only experience I know more powerful

Personally I read "A Path With Heart" by Jack Kornfield, I had to wade through quite a bit of Dogma, but the book is essentially about integrating a spiritual practice on a day to day basis

He spent years studying Buddhism in The Far East under amazing teachers, really grew, was peaceful, serene, centered, etc then he came back to the US and within a few years was worse off then he had ever been, involved in destructive relationships, unhappy with work, at odds with his family, codependent, just...was ill.

Then he had a realization, anyone can achieve enlightment sitting on a mountaintop, the trick is to choose a spiritual path and learn to utilize it on a day to day basis, to integrate our spiritual life with our daily life, and that is what the book is about

If you get a chance to pop into a Borders or another Bookstore, grab a copy, plop down on a bean bag and read the last few Chapters, "Spiritual Maturity" and "The Great Song", and if those interest you, buy the book

At the end of the day, regardless of the path you take, just remember

"Time takes Time"

We tend to want it all and we want it on our schedule, and that just isn't how that is, the trick ultimately is learning to be happy with what we have, not what we don't have, or what we want, difficult people are lessons, traffic jams teach us patience, disasters are opportunities

We all have the same stuff, usually finance and romance, we just get better at navigating it and appreciating what we do have

Focus on the positive and choose what kind of day you would like to have
