I am currently a student conducting a large product on Hypopharyngeal Cancer. I have conducted a lot of research, and I know that drinking is a major cause of Hypopharyngeal Cancer. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone who is struggling (or has struggled) with throat cancer would be willing to share their experiences with the ailment. It would greatly help me out with my project. More importantly, I am also attempting to spread awareness of not only throat cancer but also the harmful effects of drinking around the local community.

Are you a University student? What are you taking? Since you've done a lot of research, was that research academic? Is this a study, and if so how and where will we be able to see the results? Are you in a Masters or PhD program? With what institution?
Will that institution confirm that you are a student there and that this is a ligitimate study?
What is your local community?
If you are spreading awareness of drinking and throat cancer, doesn't that invalidate in independance of your findings? How do you know what your findings are going to be before you do your project?

He may be an undergraduate student, Rainspa. The criteria for objectivity might not be as strict.
ks1177, you must understand our desire to protect the reputation of our fellowship. Any findings that you declare as coming from "An Alcoholics Anonymous forum" will affect that.

This is a rather informal project. I am more concerned with providing everyone with a more personal, humane point of view rather than an educational, objective perspective. A personal account of a bout with Hypopharyngeal Cancer or a story involving someone who had the affliction would be outstanding. I understand the private nature of the ordeal, but having someone's story heard would do wonders for me.
By informal do you that mean that there is no school, college or university involved, nor is it a project for any class or course of study at a school, college or university?
By "everyone" does that mean that you are posting this story on a website? What is the URL?
I think to get more "help" your gonna need to supply a lot more specific info. Understand that AA is not, nor will be affiliated with any outside issues. What your asking for goes against our (AA) 12 traditions if your wanting to use AA as any sort of source. That includes personal stories from people that may suffer from throat cancer due to their drinking. Maybe if you tell us exactly what your goal is and how you plan to get there you may receive more help.
