For the last time, I have tortured & abused myself.  For the last time, I have tortured & abused my loved ones.

How will I do it, one day at a time....having faith in my HP, doing the steps & not taking that very FIRST DRINK.

trying one mo' time, please, let this be the last time!

ty for listening,

Catherine -

I used to look at sobriety as a "commitment" for life. I thought, if I live into my 70s, that will be 35-40 years without a drink. I kept looking into the future. And by doing that - I put a pressure on myself, where I knew I would fail. My slip lasted a little over two years. But it was from that slip, that sobriety grew, a faith in a Higher Power was planted, and the realization that AA would be a lifeline. Today, I can look back at that time and be thankful for my slip. It taught me humility and how little power I had over my life. I no longer look into the future with my sobriety - just today.

There is a lot of truth to "a day at a time." Less pressure, less stress...

In my thoughts and prayers

Hi Catherine, It has been awhile since you've been here, I'm so glad you're back. This is just like AA, you are missed when you're gone and always welcomed back with open arms.Today was worth waking up too just to know someone has made it back. Thank you!

It's never too late, don't give up , the miracle will happen. You know what to do, keep posting and get to as many meetings as you can.

One day at a time and don't pick up that drink.

(((Hugs)))
