The fifth part of Twelfth Step work is continuance. This means staying with the prospects after they have started on the new way of living. We must stay with them and not let them down. We must encourage them to go to meetings regularly for fellowship and help. They will learn that staying rational is a lot easier in the fellowship of others who are trying to do the same thing. We can encourage them by seeing them, phoning, writing, and carrying out good sponsorship. Do I care enough about others to continue as long as necessary?
MEDITATION FOR THE DAY
We admire the flower but must be reminded of the root. There would be no blossom without the root. Nor would the flower last without a strong root. Both kinds of growth are necessary. The higher the growth upward, the deeper must be the root. My life cannot flower unless it is rooted in faith.
PRAYER FOR THE DAY
I pray that my life may be deeply rooted in faith. I pray that I may feel deeply secure.
