AA Big Book, pg 132, 16 lines from the top, 16 lines from the bottom, 2 words to the right and 2 words to the left, ... right in the middle of the page...

"We absolutely insist on enjoying life"

Rose and I have to take time out for ourselves from time to time and just let God blow the dust of life off of us.. this is how we do it.

Took a hundred mile ride yesterday down to Sarasota and up the Longboat Key/Holmes Beach/Anna Maria Island coastline. Thanks to my friend Rick for inviting me.

John,

I spent a fun filled Summer with my adult son riding with him on one of his two bikes.   As we stopped part way through our first ride together my Son turned to me and said "Dad I can take this off my bucket list now"  referring to the movie.  All I could say through tears of happiness was "me too"

Larry,

We don't have Harley's.  Not willing (or able to pay the big bucks for the HD name).  Rose has a 1996 Yamaha Virago 1100 and I have a 1998 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500.  They are both great, dependable motorcycles and both together cost less than half the price of a single HD.  We bought them used, with low miles and got extremely good deals on them.

With Rose always riding with me on mine, poking me in the back and screaming, "slow down, put your turn signal on, that light is about to turn red", etc, etc.. I decided it was time to get her off of mine and onto her own...  Now its me saying, "Gawh babe, slow down, put your signal on, don't try to out run the lights!  She turned into a motorcycle mama on me!!  LOL

Honestly, we do keep it safe on the road together, and there is nothing I enjoy more than riding with her BESIDE me.  biggrin

Rose's Motorcycle

John's Motorcycle

Life in recovery is sooo good.  If someone had told me in the early days that one day I would have a motorcycle, or that I would have a wife that had her own motorcycle... I would have laughed, "that kind of stuff doesn't happen for people like me".  And once again, I would have been proven wrong.  That happens alot.

John
