I should've been on jury duty this week and next but apparantly there are too many '12 good men and true' and not enough bad guys to need us all, so I was excused from jury service. Phew. Came just right as someone has just turned the fan on and started throwing sh*t at it at work. At least I can contribute by being present rather than be a burden by being absent. But I have to watch out for my people pleasing tendencies and not get myself sucked into long days, big miles and too many 'yes OK I'll do that's.

Overnighted in Chorley last night, went to a meeting with my pal and his boss. Good meeting, good dinner before, but the lowest rent flop house I've stayed in for years. No heating, portable TV, mould growing up the walls and damp (but clean) bedding. Still, cadillac problems really, and i got to spend a pleasant quarter hour watching pied wagtails.
