Spiritual writings always remind me"Who has woe,who has sorrow?Who has strife? Who has complaints?Who has needless bruises? Who has bloodshot eyes? Those who linger over wine!,who go to sample bowls of mixed wine.DO NOT GAZE AT WINE WHEN IT IS RED,WHEN IT SPARKLES IN THE CUP,WHEN IT GOES DOWN SMOOTHLY!In the endit bites like a snake and poisons like a viper.Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind will imagine confusing things. You will be like one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging. They hit me you will say,but Im not hurt! They beat me,but I do not feel it.When will I wake up so I can find another drink! I am grateful today, for being pulled from the shipwreck of active addiction and go back to my readings "every now and then" to remind myself that through God's grace and mercy I am able to survive the storm by placing my faith and trust in my Higher Power and to practice spiritual principles in all my affairs.Thank you ,to that Power greater than me for another day of life free from the storm of my past. I believe we can all identify!!Have a blessed and productive day
