Well, for those of you who wished me well and validated my decision to quit the job I just started by putting my 2 weeks' notice in on Friday, a very interesting thing has come up.
Had I not put in my notice and instead hem-hawed around worrying about it instead, I would not have been on the job website I was on tonight. When I logged on, I saw an ad for a dermatology position (I was a dermatologic surgery assistant in my last job). I uploaded my resume.
At 10 PM... yes, 10PM, the office manager called me and apologized for calling so late... to which I assured her it was not a problem! She and I talked for awhile, and she was surprised to have a response from someone who had actually worked in dermatology for several years straight, let alone who was a surgery assistant, and "ready to go" so to speak. After a very pleasant and great phone conversation, I am set to have an interview this Wednesday, as I have the day off the job I just started. I did tell her that I started a job recently which I have given 2 weeks' notice to, that I cannot work in the kind of disorganized and negative environment there. She took that very well and commended me for offering to finish out the 2 weeks with him. She remarked that not all offices are pleasant and organized, and that I need not worry, that their office is very well run and meticulous. (And I know this to be true from my local knowledge of "the biz" and the various offices including hers, as well.) This doctor is a full certified surgeon as well, which is terrific. I have no doubt that it is a well-run operation, and that a job there would keep me on my toes and fulfilled in my work.
My former dermatologist boss has given me wonderful recommendations to all who have called about me thusfar, and I have no doubt he would continue to do the same. I just saw him last week for a dermatology "issue" of my own, and he told me that I was still on the payroll, and that he would love to have me back when the practice expands down the road. But I know that he understands I need full time work now. He recommended me highly to whomever called about me over the past month. And I would never expect him to cut someone else's hours to accommodate my needs, and we talked about this.
He and this new dermatologist actually belong to a "book club" together so they know eachother very well. I am really excited and hopeful at this prospect, and although it is ALWAYS about God's will, I ask for prayers that I might not have to go too long between the job I have now and my next (which I hope is the dermatology job!!)
So, this is even more validation that what I chose to do in putting in my notice where I was not happy and where I could not respect my boss, as I long to do in a work environment, I was present when another opportunity arose. And it is, as of now, just an opportunity. But one that I am very hopeful about.

Wow, if that's not an "eye opener" then I don't know the meaning of the words. That's just awesome Joni. Once again, proof that God will do for us what we can't do for ourselves...if we let him. Thanks for sharing this with us Joni. It's always great to hesr how God works in others lives.
As one door closes, another one opens!.Only by the grace of God can we position ourselves through spiritual principles ,support and prayer to be around when it does.I don't believe much in coincidences so peace ,joy and happiness I send your way with love..........cool man!!!

LOL yes Rob, it CAN be about "bugs"..... like sometimes people think they have a rash of spots all over, and it is scabies or bed bugs!! While this is not the most pleasant kind of visit, (nor are those with various warts and other things that hide in "personal areas" at times on people) and I would rather see folks who want wrinkle cream or that need to have their skin cancer cured, it can be very much indeed.... about BUGS. lol
(((((hugs))))))
P.S. emailed my old dermatology boss and warned him that she might be calling, and he emailed me back assuring me that he would be recommending me for the position. :o) Wish wish wish.... upon a star!!!
:o)

Larry, things are always going my way, in some form or another, if I am just doing what I am supposed to do. While I may have other ideas about what "going my way" means from time to time, things are going God's Way as long as I stay sober, and I am learning to trust that THAT is ultimately the best scenario.
:o)
