p. 230

Not many people can truthfully assert that they love everybody.  Most of us must admit that we have loved but a few; that we have been quite indifferent to the many.  As for the remainder -- well, we have really disliked or hated them.

We A.A.'s find we need something much better than this in order to keep our balance.  The idea that we can be possessively loving of a few, can ignore the many, and can continue to fear or hate anybody at all, has to be abandoned, if only a little at a time.

We can try to stop making unreasonable demands upon those we love.  We can show kindness where we had formerly shown none.  With those we dislike we can at least begin to practice justice and courtesy, perhaps going out of our way at times to understand and help them.

When I first came into AA I thought it was not possible to love everyone. My AA friends taught me to pray for those I dislike. The BB teaches that it is only their symptoms I dislike. The symptoms of all disease disappear when they are treated, and it is with spiritual illnesses like alcoholism. Today I am able to love everybody, by following the BB principles. Simple but not easy. A price has to be paid- destruction of my pride. God makes that possible.

Ahhhh Glenn good choice...very good choice.  Loving; unconditional loving...what a
journey being taught and led to understanding that loving is one condition of a
recovering character and so I came to be loving unconditionally and accepted that
as one of the characters I really wanted and needed in my life. Make it a characteristic
of who you are.  I associate with many recovering alcoholic men and women that wear
that characteristic openly.  You don't even have to talk with them all you gotta do is
watch.  What a grandest of miracles to be a former isolating fearful drunk.  Great
Thread!!   smile

The dating app is a topic that I was asked about by my uncle's son because I also met my girlfriend through it. Then I was sent a link to the Videodate app. I told them that this software is constantly available. In five minutes, it will display the girl who matches your criteria as soon as you enter your information.
