Well after 8 months(since November)we are finally going to close in the a.m. on our home sale.We are blessed and it has been strenuous to say the least. Almost 26 years ago situations like this were light years from my thoughts and dreams.Only through God's grace and mercy did we arrive at such a turning point in our lives. This last 8 months has brought us much Joy and much pain.(my son a 24 yr old, relapsed Heroin addict ravaging the land)Through the spiritual principles of our program, an undying faith in the God of my understanding and a constant day by day diligence in seeking guidance through my support group and putting principles in action in my life do we keep moving forward. When I came to, that cold December morning in 1984,I knew that it was over, there were no options, surrender or die.In recovery there is no doubt in my mind"lost dreams awaken and new possibilities arise!!!By working our program I am able to face(and not run) from all of life's trials and joys and just wanted to share my gratitude on being able to remain "teachable" and excited to carry the message of hope. If you are new here or to recovery remember with time and work"it gets good ,then it gets real good and then it gets real!!!As this day ,another day sober and free from active addiction ,comes to a close I thank my Higher Power for eveything ,the joy and the pain and pray I am able to learn a lesson from it all!! So many times I just don't understand but faith(being sure of what we hoped for,and certain of what we have not seen)keeps me focused and moving forward. Thanks for continued support here and also for carrying the message of our primary purpose.(5th tradition,12th suggestion) Talk to you on the rebound!

Hey Mike, you just gave me hope! We've had our house on the market since April 1 and are counting the months until we run out of our savings. I am not too worried, my past has shown that SOMETHING will happen, lol! But it is nice to see the results of sober living. Happy closing!
That's great Mike. I really like the reminder about facing all of life's trials and joys. What continues to amaze me is how much easier it gets to face these things with each passing day that I'm practicing AA principals in all my affairs. I really really do believe that the best is yet to come. Inspiring post Mike!
