Feelings make my perception of reality what I think is actual reality. However what I think is reality frequently is not real because feelings are not facts they are only feelings. I frequently need someone else to tell me what is fact based reality and what is only false reality conjured up by my feelings.

totally disagree. The person probably misquoted "perception is reality". Like Larry said, feelings Can alter our perception (If we let them) so it could possible affect the end result.
I much prefer "Feelings are NOT facts". Fairly often my feelings are innapropriate to downright incorrect, based on previous experiences that may have nothing to do with the present circumstance. We really must consider the facts and more importantly the importance of the situation, before letting our feelings dictate our outlook and perhaps our reaction to an event.
He may have been misquoted, but that's exactly the way it's in the book. Funny you 2 brought up feelings are not facts, because another quote of the same person in the same paragraph was "feelings are facts." That was gonna be another post, but now that it's out there, there's no need. I agree with both of you, and DEFINITELY disagree with the "feelings are facts" quote. I still sometimes find myself trying to make my insides match other's outside appearance. It never works!
