I do not see the world the way it is; I see it the way I am.
*smiling* I love that!
I read Emmet Fox's "The Seven Day Mental Diet - How to change your life(and the world) in a week" and the philosophy behind it is similar to your quote Chris. (I got it from Scribd.com)
I have never managed to do the full 7 days - never more than 2 & half ....but hey progress not perfection and I certainly find life alot more manageable when I follow his instructions....one day I'll manage to get to seven!!!!
There is no way I could have even considered his "diet" in the first couple of years of sobriety......it took me a long time in sobriety to get some lessening of my default setting of being angry at everything and everyone!!! My HP led me to it after about 3 - 4 years.....
Yes...perception and perspective are so relative. I try my best these days to view the world optimistically and not through crap colored sunglasses like I used to.

Phil, something just told me when I looked back at my subject line, you'd stick your lil ol' hands in. Like dangling a peanut butter cup in front of you, yeah?
So, crap colored glasses, is that like " I'm so cool, I gotta wear shades", or is that hot? Or maybe it's " I'm too sexy for my cloths". I get all those young people songs mixed up...
